More than a hundred people attended the first Hertfordshire town and parish conference which took place this week.

This was the first of a series of conferences covering different topics - the first focusing on localism, public health and highways.

Councillor Teresa Heritage, cabinet member for public health and localism, outlined Hertfordshire County Council’s key challenges and what the county hoped to achieve through the conferences.

Councillor Heritage said: "We want Hertfordshire to remain a county where people have the opportunity to live healthy, fulfilling lives in thriving, prosperous communities.

"Town and parish councils are at the heart of every community in Hertfordshire and they know their residents’ needs. By working closely together, we can make our vision a reality and this conference is a great way to get everyone around the table addressing key issues."
