Police have released a description of a man after two men were found stabbed at a flat in St Albans.

The double stabbing took place at around 5.45pm when a man forced his way into a flat in Lycaste Close and following an argument, two men were stabbed.

A 20-year-old received injuries to his chest, back and stomach and remains in hospital in a stable condition. A 33-year-old man received injuries to his leg and has since been released from hospital.

The suspect is described as a black man aged in his late 20s or early 30s. He was around 6ft 1ins of a slim build and wearing a dark blue hooded top. He is believed to have used a grey saloon car.

Detective sergeant Mark Clawson said: "We believe the men are known to each other and that this was a targeted incident.

"We have spoken to a number of people in the area but I would ask anyone who has not yet spoken with officers and who has information which would assist our investigation to please call.

"If you were in the area at the time and saw or heard anything suspicious, or you believe you saw the vehicle prior to or following the incident, please let us know. If you don’t feel comfortable in leaving your details please call Crimestoppers anonymously."
