St Albans District Council is providing a special collection after the Easter weekend to help residents recycle large pieces of cardboard.
Residents are asked to put cardboard in their recycling box with paper or flatten larger pieces and stack them alongside for collection on their next recycling day after Easter.
Crews will be out as usual on Good Friday(April 18) and residents are asked to have their bins and boxes out as normal by 7am. Crews will not be working on Easter Monday ( April 21).
Collections that week will take place one day later than usual, with Monday’s collections on Tuesday, Tuesday’s collections on Wednesday, and so on. Crews will work on Saturday, April 26 to catch up.
Those who miss the extra cardboard collection running from Tuesday, April 22 to Friday, May 2 can book a free collection for oversized cardboard by calling 01727 819285 or emailing wastemanagementservices@stalbans.gov.uk.
