Having gorged yourself on Easter eggs over the long weekend you may be in too much of a sugar stupor to have realised that it's St George's Day today.
So to help you out we have picked three things you can do in St Albans to mark the celebration of England's patron saint.
1. Enjoy a traditional English diner at The Foragers
The restaurant in the Verulam Arms, Lower Dagnall Street is serving up a three-course menu of diner and drinks consisting of sloe gin cured British trout with Nyetimber English sparkling wine, local game sausages with St George’s whisky and lemon tart with damson vodka. 2. Sip on a quintessential English cocktail at the Snug Bar in The Fleur de Lys, French Row
We recommend the English Garden made with English Beefeater gin, naturally pressed apple and cranberry juices and elderflower.
Happy hour 2-4-1 runs everyday, from 3 to 7pm. Details: 01727 856631, thesnugbar.co.uk
3. Or save yourself for Sunday when the annual St George's Day Service and Parade will take place in the city centre
Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers from all over St Albans will gather from 2pm at Alban Arena and then march through the streets, ending at the Abbey for a special service. Details: aquila.scout-troop.org.uk
