A lost yellow gold crucifix engraved with two names, which is likely to hold ‘great sentimental value’, has been handed in to the police.
Police are appealing for information after the crucifix (pictured) was found by a member of the public at around 7pm on Tuesday, April 22 near the disabled parking bays in the car park of Sainsbury’s in Griffiths Way.
The crucifix is engraved on the back with two names and the date ‘October 1920’.
PC Ben Smith said: “It is likely that this crucifix holds great sentimental value and importance to the person who has lost it and I am very keen to see it reunited with its owner.
“If anyone believes it is their property, or knows who it may belong to, please contact me via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101.”
