Children from a St Albans school have celebrated Earth Hour, an initiative to help children look at ways to safeguard the planet for their future.

On Friday, April 25, Crabtree Infant School pupils met with the Foot Fella and WWF Panda as part of World Wide Fund For Nature, a Global Earth Hour initiative.

Across the world, famous landmarks such as Big Ben, The House of Parliament, Sydney Opera House, the Las Vegas Strip and The Eiffel Tower were switched off to show support for environmental issues.

The children enjoyed a special assembly all about Earth Hour and watched how Foot Fella arrived on Planet Earth.

They were also given the opportunity to enter a competition by drawing their idea of how people can help the earth.
