Police have released an e-fit in connection with a burglary in Wheathampstead.

The offence took place at a house in King Edward Place between 6.15pm and 7.15pm on Tuesday, April 15.

A man entered the property and encountered the elderly victim in the hallway and engaged her in conversation.

The victim’s daughter, who was also in the property, challenged the man, who then left. Money was later found missing from the victim’s purse.

The man is described as white, aged between 32 and 40 years old, of slim build, 5ft 9in tall, with short, dark brown untidy hair.

He was wearing dark trousers, a grey shirt and a black jumper.
