A dog was left with serious injuries after it was chased and bitten by a "labrador cross with a square head" in a Redbourn park.

The incident happened at 7.30am on Sunday, May 11, in Harpenden Lane, on the fields between the A5183 and Harpenden Lane.

A man in his 40s was walking his dog in the fields when another dog, which was not on a lead, chased the man’s dog and bit it, causing serious injury.

The offending dog’s owner approached and left the scene with her dog without leaving any details.

The woman is described as white, 5ft 6ins tall, who was of a medium build with auburn hair in a bob style. She was wearing blue jeans with a leafy green jacket with the logo ‘’Horse Wear’’.

The offending dog is said to be around 8 to 9-years-old and is described as a Labrador cross with a square head and a white chest.

If anyone has any information about what happened or knows the owner, please contact PC Capiciotto via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s 101 number quoting crime reference number F2/14/675.
