Children from a St Albans nursery will be teaming up with Peppa Pig this summer for The Peppa Pig Golden Wellies Fundraiser, in aid baby charity Tommy's and helping to save babies' lives.

From June 2 Busy Bees in Hatfield Road will join a nationwide Peppa Pig fundraising week, where they will organise a Peppa-themed welly printing and decoration activities, welly races, a welly fashion show and a welly party.

Each participant will be sponsored by friends and family, with funds going towards Tommy's vital research into pregnancy complications and advice for all parents-to-be.

Last year fundraisers at Busy Bees nurseries across the nation raised more than £30,000 for Tommy's.

Lorraine Middleton, nursery manager said: "Our Peppa Pig fundraiser in aid of Tommy's is one of the highlights of the year and the children can't wait to get involved in the day.

"It's very special that the children at our nursery can help save babies' lives, and we're hoping to raise even more money this year."
