The Mayor of St Albans cut the ribbon at the launch of a tennis club’s newly re-surfaced and upgraded courts on Saturday.
More than 200 visitors joined the city’s Mayor Annie Brewster, to admire the tennis courts at Greenwood Park in Tippendell Lane, where she was presented with a bouquet of pink roses by budding tennis players, Anya, 4 and six-year-old Amber .
Sam Pink, head coach, was on hand to organise a cardio tennis taster session for 30 adults, while the rest of his coaching team lead demo sessions with infants and juniors, who had fun while developing new tennis skills.
The Mayor said she was "delighted to see with her own eyes, the Olympic legacy alive and thriving here at Greenwood Park".
