Students from St Albans juggled and spun their way to learning new skills during 'circus week'.
Samuel Ryder Academy reception and Year 1 and years 7 to 9 pupils learnt how to perform a wide variety of acts including juggling, plate spinning, Chinese ribbons, feather balancing, stilt walking, diabolo, tight rope walking, walking globes and unicycling during a week-long circus workshop.
This was followed by PTA fundraising event on Tuesday, May 20 where a ‘big top’ circus arrived in the school playing field to put on a performance for students and their parents, raising over £1,000 for the school.
Mun-Li Boswell, PTA chair, said: "The event was a great way to round off 'circus week' at the primary school.
"Not only did the children and grown-ups have a brilliant time, it was fantastic to see how the evening brought the school community together".
