Conservatives top EU polls in the city
The Conservative Party topped the polls in the European Parliamentary elections in St Albans, with the UK Independence Party tailing closely behind.
With 33.5 per cent the Conservatives received the most votes in the city. They were closely followed by UKIP, who had a strong showing of 21.4 per cent.
While the Labour party gained 18 per cent of the vote and the Liberal Democrats 13 per cent of the vote. Meanwhile the Greens gained 9.8 per cent of the vote.
St Albans falls under the Eastern Region. The results mean the region will return three Conservative MEPs, three UKIP and one Labour to the Brussels parliament.
