A staircase at St Albans City station will be closed for refurbishments to take place.
First Capital Connect is resurfacing the staircase between the taxi rank and Victoria Street.
Throughout the six weeks of work, which begins on June 9, the staircase will be closed.
The work will see the staircase resurfaced, the handrails replaced, parts of the structure repaired and new lighting, tactiles slabs and treads installed.
The cycle parking at the foot of the staircase will also be closed from June 6. Alternative cycle parking will be available in the Ridgmont Road car park.
Passengers who normally use the staircase will have to walk to the nearby road junction and along Station Way and bus interchange to the front of the station building. This is estimated to take around 60 seconds longer.
