Police are no longer investigating an incident near Sandringham School today.

Officers were called a footpath between The Ridgeway and Malvern Close at around 8.30am this morning after reports a pupil was approached by a man.

However Hertfordshire Constabulary said following a "thorough investigation" it had deemed the incident not suspicious.

Giles Cooper, from the police, said: "After extensive and thorough inquiries by officers in St Albans this incident is no longer being investigated by police.

"Police would like to reassure the public that it has been established this incident did not take place and the boy was not approached by a man."
