  • "Makes a change from the usual PR nonsense we usually see from the fire brigade eg The fire brigade were called to a small fire in a bin and put it out. I guess these are just tweets reposted by the WO in the absence of real news. I feel that we need tweets from other public services such as binmen empty bin and put contents in refuse truck....."

Firefighters in Hertfordshire are to take part in industrial action over pensions this month, the Fire Brigades Union has announced.

The strike will take place on June 12, lasting 24 hours, and June 21, lasting 37 hours from 10am, over a long running dispute with Government over pensions.

Firefighters last went on strike for three days at the beginning of May.
