A St Albans man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal crash on the M6 last year.

Dean Hughes, 29, will appear at Newcastle Magistrates Court on Tuesday, June 24, charged in connection with the death of Stephen Brentnall, 50, from Aberdeen.

The crash took place on the southbound carriageway of the motorway, between junctions 16 and 15, in September last year.

Mr Brentnall was pronounced dead at the scene after his car, a BMW Mini, left the carriageway.
