Cyclists will have the opportunity to compete in a Malin to Mizen cycle ride to raise money for a Harpenden based charity.
The A-T Society’s Malin to Mizen seven-day trip will start on September 6 to raise money for people with Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T).
The society was set up in memory of Caroline and Gregory Poupard, who both suffered from A-T, a complex genetic disease which causes severe disability in children and premature death.
Their parents, Vincent and Maureen Poupard founded the society, a national charity now based at the Rothamsted Research Centre in Harpenden, which offers support for A-T sufferers and their families, and funds research in the hope of finding a cure for the disease.
Cyclist Fergus Loughrey, who completed the ride in April, said: "The 437-mile journey was a fantastic experience, and I know any cyclist would find it an awesome trip. I hope people will saddle up to ensure this small dynamic charity can continue the outstanding work they do."
