Visitors enjoyed two days of music, fun and frivolity at this year’s St Albans Folk Festival.

The weekend event as part of the annual Alban Weekend celebrations included a day of free live music and a Day of Dance followed by a Festival Concert in the Old Town Hall.

Other highlights were a local ukulele band, morris dancers and the Ver Players in the Assembly Room, as well as singing in the court room and music workshops.

St Albans & Harpenden Review:

An evening festival concert featuring Jim Moray, an English Folk singer concluded the celebrations.

Alison Macfarlane from the festival, which was established in 1988, said: "It went off really well. We were really pleased.

"We had some lovely singing in the court room and the day of dance went lovely because we had the nice weather for it.

"We had a great evening concert and lots of people enjoyed singing. Some people who went to the court room and liked what they heard then bought tickets for the evening concert

"I would put it down as an overall success."
