A fashion show held in St Albans has raised more than £1,400 for charity.

On Monday, June 23 DEMAND (Design and Manufacture for Disability) took over St Michaels Manor Hotel for a fashion show to raise money for a charity who bespoke, life enhancing equipment for people with disabilities.

The glamorous event featured a catwalk style fashion show showcasing a wide range of ladies clothing from major high street stores.

Among the 95 women who strutted their stuff were Lisa Bates from St Albans Chamber of Commerce, former Mayor and Wheathampstead Councillor Annie Brewster, Debbie Diggle Regional Director of Athena Ladies Network group and Sarah-Helen from Restyle Magic.

Denise Gillies, DEMAND regional fundraising manager said it would not have been possible without the generosity of Richard Marrett, St Michael’s Manor Hotel manager, who sponsored the event.
She said:  "It was a wonderfully entertaining and enjoyable evening.

"We would very much like this to be an annual event for the charity and are already looking forward to next year’s fashion show."

Denise also thanked volunteers including West Herts commercial manager Francesca Bonn, Susan Heaver and Deborah O’Neill of Buckingham & Co and Athena networkers.

Photographer Angela Geldenhuys and Hair by Vieri kindly also donated their services.
