Britain's favourite botanist David Bellamy joined visitors at St Albans' Butterfly World for a bug hunt bonanza.
Enthusiasts looked through the 27 acres of specially created habitats, wildflower meadows and designer gardens at the centre in a bid to track down and identify as many six-legged creatures as possible.
The Royal Entomological Society was on hand to record the findings as part of the national bug survey.
