A Poodle puppy was mauled to death by two Alsatian dogs in a devastating attack in the owner's garden.

The owner of the black Poodle puppy tried to separate the two dogs, both black and tan Alsatians, but was bitten on the leg.

Police are appealing for information after the attack took place at around 4pm on Sunday, June 29 in Jenkins Avenue, Bricket Wood. The two dogs were in the wooded area at the rear of the property when they managed to enter the house’s garden.

Once in the garden the dogs attacked the homeowner’s black Poodle puppy.

The puppy was killed and the owner’s leg required stitches.

A man believed to be the owner of the Alsatians could be heard in the wooded area yelling for the dogs. Once the dogs went back into the woodland the man said he would secure them and then return to speak to the victim but he did not come back.

PC Andrew Shepherd said: “The victim has been left absolutely devastated by what has happened. Although she has been lucky not to suffer more serious injuries, her beloved pet was killed.

“I would urge the person who was in company of the two Alsatians to contact me immediately. Likewise, if anyone believes they know the man’s identity, or who the dogs may belong to, they should contact me straight away.”

Anyone with any information in relation to this incident should contact PC Shepherd via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, citing crime reference F3/14/888. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.

my sympathy to the owner of the puppy i do hope you were not seriously bitten, these dogs must be found as they are dangereous, if the owner is letting them run loose in the woods they should be muzzled as
the owner has no control over them and with school holidays coming up and the nice weather there will be children in the woods and these dogs could easily attack and kill a child. my dogs are obedience trained and i would never let them of their leads if i though they run off.
