Explosions and fire-ball wake London Colney residents

Witnesses reported hearing explosions in the early hours of this morning in London Colney after a fire broke out in a garage.

St Albans fire crews were called to the detached garage in a Alexandra Road garden just before 12.30am and were at the scene until 1.25am.

One witness, who lives nearby, said: "Residents of London Colney were woken by explosions and a fire-ball.

"The garage is completely gutted."
