Harpenden Town Mayor, Councillor Mary Maynard will be officially opening Porters Hill toddler play area today.
Thanks to funding from the Town Council, St Albans District Council and Harpenden Trust, neighbours are invited to join in the celebrations with the official opening of newly installed toddler play equipment on Saturday between 1pm and 4pm.
Fun, free activities provided by the Town Council, St Albans District council’s Play Rangers and Watford FC Community Trust are on offer with Batford Community Action Group running a refreshment stall.
The toddler area design has been influenced by local children through consultation and now completes the play area enabling its use by all children and young people.
Sharing the event with the start of the Town Council’s Love Parks week, the afternoon promises to be one of fun for all the family.
Mayor Councillor Maynard said: ‘‘We are delighted to deliver this fantastic playground.
"I would like to give a huge thank you to the children who helped design it, and am sure it will provide local toddlers many happy hours of play. Thank you also to our financial sponsors who helped make it happen."
