Harpenden Town Mayor, Councillor Mary Maynard, officially opened Porters Hill toddler play area this weekend - and didn't the little ones love it.

Thanks to funding from the Town Council, St Albans District Council and Harpenden Trust, neighbours were invited to join in the celebrations with the official opening of the newly installed toddler play equipment on Saturday between 1pm and 4pm.

Fun, free activities provided by the Town Council, St Albans District council’s Play Rangers and Watford FC Community Trust were on offer while Batford Community Action Group provided a refreshment stall.

The toddler area design, being investigated by 15-month old Logan Bromwich, has been influenced by local children through consultation and now completes the play area enabling its use by all children and young people.

Mayor Councillor Maynard said: ‘‘We are delighted to deliver this fantastic playground.

"I would like to give a huge thank you to the children who helped design it, and am sure it will provide local toddlers many happy hours of play.  Thank you also to our financial sponsors who helped make it happen."
