A ‘have a go’ day for people with Parkinson’s Disease in St Albans will take place today.

The Redbourn Recreation Centre in Dunstable Road will host the day so that people with Parkinson’s, their carers, friends and family can try a range of activities including bowls, pilates, tai chi, yoga, table tennis, and badminton.

Instructors in the various activities will be on hand, and the whole day will be planned to benefit people with Parkinson’s.

Parkinson’s is a progressive disease of the brain, which gradually affects the person’s ability to move.

The West Herts branch of Parkinson’s UK already offers local exercise classes, conductive education, dance and singing classes designed to improve mobility and the ability to speak.

The Activity Day will start at 10.30am.
