A policewoman from London Colney accused of trying to let an uninsured Porsche driver off after they exchanged flirtatious messages has been cleared of perverting the course of justice.

WPC Saheena Tegally swapped numbers with Richard Myerson after she pulled him over for an insurance check last year.

The 26-year old was found not guilty yesterday after a trial at London's Wood Green Crown Court.

Ms Tegally, who joined the Metropolitan Police as a community support officer in 2007, was suspended by the force pending the outcome of the trial.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said she remained suspended pending the outcome of a misconduct review hearing.
