Vandals have poured a "corrosive substance" over a van in St Albans.
Hertfordshire Constabulary said that £9,000 worth of damage was done after the offender, or offenders, poured a corrosive substance over a silver Vauxhall Vivaro van in Park Street on Monday night.
The incident is believed to have happened between 6pm on Monday and 7am Tuesday morning.
Damage was done to the paintwork on the driver’s side of the vehicle, part of the passenger side and the bonnet. The substance has also caused damage to the engine compartment and wiring within the vehicle.
Anyone who saw what happened or who has any information about who may have been responsible can telephone PCSO Kirsty Gilling via the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number F3/14/1068.
