The Museum of St Albans is flashing back to the 1970s from Saturday, September 6, with an exhibition featuring objects, photographs and memories of the time.

Space hoppers, the launch of blockbuster movie Star Wars and the heatwave of 1976 all play a part in the story of Seventies St Albans.

Councillor Annie Brewster, portfolio holder for sports, leisure and heritage for St Albans City and District Council, said: "Take a trip down memory lane and pop along to Seventies St Albans. If you were not born until much later, you can discover the decade for the first time and marvel at the clothing and artefacts from the period."

The exhibition, telling the story of St Albans in the 1970s, runs at the Museum of St Albans in Hatfield Road until Sunday, September 28.
