New attractions in St Albans and Harpenden have been added to this year’s Heritage Open Days programme.

The popular four-day event will be held between September 11 and September 14, when residents will be treated to a number of free tours and visits.

From tours of St Albans Cathedral to themed walks covering different periods of time in St Albans, the open days will provide for both young and old.

This year there are 12 events and openings in St Albans which are registered with the national scheme, including Redbourn Museum, St Albans Signal Box, the City Tour Guides, St Albans Clock Tower, the Cathedral Tower Tours and Redbournbury Watermill among others.

All venues will be open free of charge, and some are also putting on special events.
