More than 2,000 people attended a summer festival at Heartwood Forest over the bank holiday.

From woodland crafts to a fun dog show, a woodland bake-off to professional storytelling the annual event in the forest in Sandridge is one of the biggest events that the Woodland Trust provides for its supporters.

Louise Neicho, site manager for the Woodland Trust said: "It was fantastic to see such a great turn out to our Heartwood Festival, which was themed around trees, woods and art.

"It was quite a sight seeing all the children running around flying their kites in the breeze, and getting stuck in with charcoal drawing. The atmosphere was wonderful; another great day celebrating local woodland."
