The streets of St Albans were swept clean at the weekend as part of a global campaign.
Park Street Neighbourhood Watch organised the clear-up on Saturday as part of the nationwide campaign Let’s do it! UK.
The campaign launched in Estonia in 2008 and has since spread across the globe.
More than 30 people, including 11 from the Estonian Embassy in London, joined forces in St Albans and collected around 35 bags of litter - covering virtually all 86 streets, local parks and green spaces.
Peter Tiffany, at Park Street Neighbourhood Watch, said: “Park Street Litter Pickers and the parish of St Stephen are immensely grateful to the volunteers from the Embassy for giving up most of their Saturday to help us tackle our own litter challenge.”
