A school in St Albans has had an application for a mobile catering unit refused.
Beaumont School in Oakwood Drive submitted an application to St Albans District Council for the permanent stationing of a mobile catering unit within school grounds.
The application was refused on the grounds that the school is located within the Metropolitan Green Belt.
The refusal notice said: "Although relatively limited in size, the proposed catering kiosk would lead to other harm in terms of its impact on the openness of the Green Belt.
"The proposed development cannot be justified in terms of the purposes specified and no exceptional circumstances are apparent in this case."
