The council is running a survey to improve the recycling service.
St Albans District Council’s market researchers from Enventure will be visiting 20,000 homes in the district to speak to residents about how they use the recycling service.
Every tonne of food waste that is not recycled costs taxpayers £100 per tonne to bury as landfill.
An online questionnaire can also be completed at: www.stalbans.gov.uk/recyclingyourviews from Wednesday 1 October.
