A nursery in St Albans is celebrating its 50 year anniversary.
Wheatfields Infants and Nursery School held its first event last week - with Lady Verulam, the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, unveiling a new plaque.
A number of staff and governors who had previously worked for the school attended with all the first and second year children and the present staff.
Also attending was Alan Gray, headteacher at Sandringham School, and Sandra McDonald who were both pupils at the school when it opened. They talked to the current pupils about school life in the sixties.
