Pupils at Edge Grove School in Radlett will get chance to work with and look after two Dartmoor pedigree ponies called Passion Flower and Blackthorn.
The ponies, who moved to their new home at the school last week, are part of a new outdoor learning hub, which includes a gazebo, a stage and a 'log' seating area to use for lessons.
Ben Evans, headteacher at Edge Grove School said he is committed to providing outdoor learning.
He said: "We are in the process of creating a lovely Remembrance Garden at Edge Grove to mark the centenary anniversary of the First World War. Currently in development, it will be used as an area for quiet reflection and we are dedicating it to past Edge Grovians who lost their lives in the war."
