A number of applications to turn land into assets of community value have been rejected.
St Albans District Council received the applications, which if granted would mean community groups would have six months to prepare a bid to acquire the asset.
In Wheathampstead, Jessamine Garage in High Street was rejected, as were the former station sidings in Kingfisher Close and the fire station in Marford Road.
In St Albans, The Beacon in King Harry Lane was rejected, as was Marian Hall in Townsend Drive, Westfield News in Abbey Avenue and the King Offa pub in Wallingford Walk.
