Nurses, teaching assistants and local government workers from south west Hertfordshire are taking part in a demonstration calling for pay rises.
The national demonstration this weekend, with its slogan "Britain Needs A Pay Rise", is expected to attract tens of thousands of trade union members.
The demonstration follows a week of industrial action by NHS workers, including a four hour strike on Monday, and a narrowly avoided strike by local government workers on Tuesday after the employers improved their pay offer at the eleventh hour.
Health workers are planning another strike in November. Police civilian staff are to be balloted over industrial action at the same time following their rejection of a 1 percent pay increase.
The march will set off from the Embankment at 12pm, and to Hyde Park for a rally head via Northumberland Avenue, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly.
