A nursery in St Albans took part in bake-off for charity, raising more than £200.

Staff and children at Busy Bees nursery in St Albans Hospital donned aprons and chef hats to whisk up a variety of cakes to sell to parents and visitors on Wednesday.

All money raised on the day will be donated to the charity, Keech Hospice and the Neuroblastoma Society.

The mini bakers were helped by nursery staff and the nursery chef Andrew Farquharson to bake and decorate a range of tasty biscuits, which are low in salt and sugar.

Nursery manager, Faye Dutton, said: "Children had lots of fun on the day making, baking and decorating biscuits and cakes with our expert chef on hand to help them create the tastiest treats possible with the range of healthy ingredients in our kitchen.

"We wanted to raise as much money as possible for Oliver Marchant, aged three, who attends the nursery as he was poorly with Neuroblastoma, thankfully he is now in remission and doing well.

"Thank you to everyone for their hard work."
