An independent survey carried out earlier this year found that St Albans City and District Council's housing is in a good state.
The internal survey covered decoration, floor coverings, doors and damage to internal walls. Two thirds of properties were found to be in a good condition, 31 per cent were average and three per cent were in poor condition.
Councillor Brian Ellis, Portfolio Holder for Housing at St Albans City and District Council, said: "I am pleased that the results of the survey show that the majority of the Council’s housing stock is in good condition.
"The independent stock condition survey noted the significant investment which has been made in the Council's housing in recent years.
"Planned work was brought forward to take advantage of competitive priced quotes and to support the local economy."
