A celebration of literature is taking place in St Albans next month.

The inaugural St Albans Literary Festival will see four days of talks, workshops, panel debates and activities focusing on everything from chick lit and crime fiction to journalism and blogging.

Running from November 6 until November 9, festival events are taking place at iconic locations across St Albans, including the Cathedral, St Michael’s Manor, St Albans School and the Town Hall.

Top names already confirmed to appear include broadcasting legend Sir Terry Wogan, crime writers Ben Aaronovitch, James Runcie and Mike Carey, historical authors Leanda de Lisle and Conn Iggulden, and chick lit writers Rachael Lucas, Angela Clarke, Rowan Coleman and Liz Frazer.
