An image of a ring stolen during a burglary in Park Street has been released by detectives investigating the incident.

The theft occurred on October 16, when between 3.20pm and 3.50pm the offender(s) climbed into the rear garden of a property in Park Street Lane, where they forced open a window and gained access to the address whilst the occupants were out.

A number of items were then stolen, including a platinum ring, which has a blue tanzanite stone inset on one side and small diamonds on the other, a gold ring, with a dark blue sapphire inset that is surrounded by diamonds, a man’s Omega watch, which has a round ivory face and a gold watch, which has a thin gold-plated chain-link strap. It has a small rectangular white face and gold hands.

Detective Constable Dean Trollope from St Albans Local Crime Unit is investigating and said: "The victims of this burglary have been left very upset by the theft of their property as it holds sentimental value to them. I would ask anyone who is offered the items for sale, or knows of their whereabouts, to contact me straight away.

"As this happened during the day, I would also like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident. Do you remember seeing something that seemed unusual, out of place or suspicious? Any detail you can provide, however seemingly insignificant, may assist me greatly."

Anyone with any information contact Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference F3/14/1459.
