Rotary club in Harpenden selects new president
The rotary club in Harpenden has a new president.
Geoffrey Turner, who has lived in the village since 1980, has been a member of the rotary club for the last 10 years.
The club runs the highly successful Classics on the Common, raising many thousands of pounds for charity, as well as the Harpenden Quiz of Quizzes and other fundraising events.
Geoffrey said: "You may have seen us on Harpenden station late last year with buckets raising funds for the Syria crisis appeal.
"But rotary is more than fundraising. We have fun and get hands on helping others, too."
Geoffrey has been a councillor for St Albans District since 2006.
