Pupils from St Albans and Harpenden have the chance to win £20,000 worth of laboratory equipment for their school as part of a competition to design the school science lab of the future. 

Students are being asked to submit their futuristic designs for the contest, run by education interior furniture specialists Innova Design Solutions. 

In addition to the main prize of the chance to transform their school with state-of-the-art laboratory furniture, the winning team will also take home a £1,000 prize to share between them or £250 for an individual entry. 

The competition is open to 11 to 16 year olds from secondary schools and is open until Friday, February 27 2015.
