Sheep at Willows Farm in St Albans will be donning ewe-nique woolly sweaters this week, to raise money for Save the Children.

Taking part in Christmas Jumper Day, on Friday December 12, the Willows sheep have had their coats spray-painted in Christmassy colours and patterns.

The non-toxic paint used to dye the sheep is normally reserved for marking the animals, but this Christmas they have been used to give the animals’ coats a new ‘fleece of life’.

Farmer Andrew said: "It’s a fantastic cause and we thought it would be great to give our sheep the chance to get involved – after all it’s their wool that makes the Christmas jumpers. We hope these un-ewe-sual knits will inspire people to donate to Save The Children."

A donation to Save the Children will be made for every child who visits the Willows Santa Claus on Friday.
