A man has admitted assaulting two police officers who were guarding him at a hospital after he had been arrested and taken there.

Kevin Murphy was also convicted of assaulting a woman friend at her home and putting her in fear of violence by harassing her with a torrent of phone calls, missed calls and Facebook messages.

Mr Murphy 37 of Russett Drive, St Albans, will be sentenced next month at St Albans crown court.

He was acquitted of attempting to commit grievous bodily harm, damaging property and hurling racial insults at a woman.
