A flood information event will be held in St Albans next week.

St Albans District Council is holding the event in partnership with several organisations involved in flood prevention including the Environment Agency and Hertfordshire County Council.

It will be a chance for residents of Marshalswick, Sandridge Village and Jersey Farm to drop in and find out what help is available and what communities can do to help themselves.

In September, residents called for more to be done after several places across the district were affected by flash floods.

Residents will be invited to contribute to the Community Flood Plan and to become flood wardens, co-ordinating self-help groups within their own neighbourhood.

The drop-in event, hosted by Sandridge Parish Council, will take place between 6.30pm and 9.30pm on Thursday, January 29 at Marshalswick Community Centre.
