A new £55,000 pedestrian crossing will be installed in Harpenden next month.
The scheme will involve installing new controlled pedestrian crossing on Walkers Road, east of the junction with Queens Road, on the site of the existing uncontrolled crossing.
As part of the scheme, which begins on Monday, February 9, the road will be resurfaced and all road markings and traffic signs associated with the crossing will be renewed.
There will also be some work on the pavements and upgrading of the existing eastbound bus stop, which may affect service routes.
The work, which should take three weeks to complete, will take place from 9.30am to 3.30pm during the first and the third week (23 February) and from 7am to 7pm in the second week (16 February).
Walkers Road will be closed during these times and Queens Road will also be closed on certain days.
Ringway is responsible for the work, which is weather dependent, on behalf of Hertfordshire County Council.
