An appeal against a refusal to grant planning permission for a front and rear extension at a St Albans home has been allowed.

The appeal was lodged after St Albans District Council refused permission for the development at a house in Cambridge Road.

The appeal was allowed on the condition that the window to be created in the first floor side elevation shall be glazed in obscure glass and shall be non-openable below a height of 1.7m.

An inspector appointed by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government overturned the council’s refusal.
