The Metro Bank Money Zone visited a St Albans school to teach children about the money, saving and banking.
Children at Mandeville Primary School took part in three interactive lessons, delivered in class by a specially trained bank staff last week.
At the end of the week, they were invited to the bank and given the opportunity to see behind the scenes of working in a bank. The session included, money counting, cashiering and eeven a trip inside the bank vault.
Pat Leaver, Year 4 class teacher said: "The children loved the activity books which formed part of each Money Zone session and they were very keen to take them home at the end of the week.
"Many of the children initially had no idea about what goes on in a bank and the importance of saving money, so the programme was a really valuable experience for them."
The programme by Metro Bank, is designed to complement the primary school curriculum for both maths and PSHE.
