Founder of Homeless Charity Open Door, Kerry Pollard, visited the Halifax Branch in St Albans yesterday (Thursday, February 19) to collect funds raised from several charity events held during the past six months.

Branch Manager Andy Robinson climbed Mount Snowdon in Wales while staff held a bake sale raising £300.

Andy said: "Through our Helping Britain Prosper Plan, we are actively encouraged to bring our communities closer together and we chose Open Door.

"This is a key local charity, and we see people every day in need of the charity’s help. It’s great to know that the money we raised will make a difference to our local community.

"Kerry set up the Charity 20 years ago and was kind enough to collect the money raised in person, and tell us more about the great work Open Door undertakes within our local area."
